Thank you 2020, Welcome 2021!
2020 was a year like no one ever imagined to be possible. 2020 changed the world. 2020 was the year planet earth finally had a break it so badly needed. From 1900 till 2019, it was as if time rushed and went fastforward hastily. So many events, inventions, innovation, people born, excess mass consumption of food, drinks, clothes, electronics, and an extreme of material wants that became needs, 2020 proved that humans are still vulnerable and definitely not invincible despite of all the knowledge and material things they think they accumulated to date. 2020 was a game changer putting each person back to basic. And yes, no money in the world prevented the period when the world was completely locked down. Food, water, shelter and health proved to be the wealth a person truly needs. Even the great wealthy who died from Covid could not use their money to save them from dying. 2020 made us realize that there's no rich or poor when Covid strikes.
For me, 2020 was a blessing. I know I can be only one of the very few who can say this. In 2020, one of my dreams came true. Both my children have finished their studies. As a parent, this is a dream we cherish from the moment our child is born. I always hoped, wished and prayed for my children's success in pursuing their passion, positive contribution to mankind, become an inspiration to others. Finishing their studies is the solid foundation I believe they need in order to structure their lives. So the fact that they did, I truly felt like winning the lottery. I felt an overflowing pride and joy alike. Bliss.
Also, 2020 was the year I finally got financially stable. I got rid of financial woes, worries and stress plus I was able to offer financial help to those in need and the fact that even it was a very short summer holidays, it was certainly one that I genuinely enjoyed. Not having a single second to worry about spending money! Vacation in its true meaning. Bliss.
Working from home also is another blessing. After all these years, I was finally able to do so many things I always 'intend' to do. Gardening, slight home improvement, thorough cleaning up and eventually throwing a lot of things I always thought we'd ever need but actually stuff that just turned into junk. Also by working from home took off a lot of travel-to-work-stress, gave me the opportunity to structure how I work, taking healthy breaks in between and just enjoy bonding time with my loved ones. I am beyond grateful that I have no young children to help with online school as I can only imagine how stressful it would have been needing to do that aside from my own work. Bliss.
2020 I think I have found my true passion with regards to crafts. I have always wanted to create things that will bring warmth, joy, cheer and smiles to people. And I have always loved art. So for me to be able to finally craft an art that I have designed myself is another dream come true. Bliss.
So I sincerely thank you 2020 for being one of my best years ever. And for 2021, may this year be an extension of bliss to those who experienced 2020 as positive and give bliss to those who did not have the opportunities to find any positivity from last year.
